Son of Indian parents, Anup was born in Kenya, East Africa. A favourite activity while growing up there was visiting the nearby Nairobi National Park where he spent many hours watching wild animals roaming in their natural environment. This experience became the foundation for a career in wildlife photography. After higher education in England and several university degrees, he returned to Kenya and developed his interest in wildlife photography. His photographs show a variety of animals give birth, play, hunt, feed, groom, sleep, mate, migrate and die.
He is now internationally well renowned via publications and through winning awards. Examples are features in magazines such as Figaro, VSD, Terre Sauvage and Ça m' Intéresse in France, Terra in Germany, Animan in Switzerland, Airone and Oasis in Italy, BBC Wildlife magazine in UK and National Wildlife Magazine, Nature’s Best Magazine, Natural History Magazine, Ranger Rick and National Geographic Magazine in USA. Books include A Tigers Tale (UK, 1996); Meres et Petits, (France 2003), The Circle of Life: Wildlife on the African Savannah (USA 2003), Savane (France 2006), The African Odyssey:365 Days (USA 2007) and The Great Rift Valley of East Africa (South Africa), published in June 2008.
